The Paranaque Senior Citizens Affairs Association (SCAA) has launched a project to promote an active lifestyle among the elderly through the donation of outdoor fitness equipment.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the project aims to promote active lifestyles and address health risks among older people by urging them to engage in physical but not too strenuous activities during the pandemic.
Olivarez said the SCAA had requested help from the Paranaque External and Internal Affairs (PHOA) under the leadership of Eva Nono to coordinate with various homeowners associations in the city for the renewal of outdoor fitness equipment for use by children. the elderly.
Nono said they had already donated outdoor fitness equipment to two homeowners associations – New Sun Valley Subdivision and Garcia Heights Subdivision.
She said the outdoor fitness equipment would also help boost socialization within the community.
The PHOA chief said the city government initially purchased 10 sets of outdoor fitness equipment which will soon be handed over to other homeowners associations.
Nono said the program is an ongoing project by the city government and SCAA that aims to provide all homeowner associations in the city with outdoor fitness equipment.
She said Olivarez, SCAA President Pacita Maranan and Rep. Eric Olivarez attended the blessing and renewal of gym equipment in the Garcia Heights subdivision.
