ROCKVILLE CENTER, NY – The timing worked for Paisley Falvo, who opened her F45 fitness studio in May.
A native of Lynbrook, Falvo offers the famous High Intensity Group Workout at Rockville Center for people who have been working from home for 18 months.
“We were almost ready just before the pandemic,” said Falvo, who is head coach at the Sunrise Highway site. “We were in production. We were working on space; then, of course, [it] to close. We would have opened much sooner. “
Falvo is officially hosting a location grand opening on July 10 with classes, but also a DJ and giveaways as we see the end of COVID-19 on Long Island.
The national fitness brand gained popularity when actor Mark Wahlberg became one of the investors.
Falvo, who graduated from Molloy College in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in finance, is back in school for a master’s degree in mental health counseling.
“I would love to continue to train people and work in the gym and also find a job as a consultant,” Falvo said. “I would like to find a way to mix the two [with] advice through fitness. But I don’t know yet how that would work. ”
For now, however, Falvo is leading at least half of the 45-minute classes (one hour on Saturdays). The 25 classes, at different times of the day, focus on strength training, cardio, and mirrorless fitness tuning in the studios. She previously worked at Studio F (Functional Training) 45 in Long Beach.
“We make sure that everyone is doing the right movement and that their body is as it’s supposed to be,” she said.
They have two membership plans – unlimited monthly and eight classes per month.
Falvo notes a fairly even distribution between male and female members, sometimes participating together as a couple. She said 16 is the youngest age allowed with parental permission, while the range goes into the 60s.
“The great thing about the courses we offer is that they are super adaptable to your abilities,” Falvo said. “We can change things. We can make it harder. It’s open to all fitness levels.”
This allows most of the standard reasons to join F45, including the desire to lose weight and tone their bodies, but whatever the rationale, she said members prefer the group fitness method.
“We’re able to deliver what I like to call a ‘fit fan feeling’ in a much more supervised environment,” she said.
Falvo, who is also Molloy’s assistant cheerleader coach, loves her connection to the community.
“I’m really excited to be at Rockville Center,” Falvo said. “It’s a great city. I think it’s a great gym to bring to the area.”
