Eat the Frog, a new fitness training concept born from decades of science-based elite athletic training, held a groundbreaking and celebratory ceremony on October 24 at its Hill Center Brentwood location.
Owner Beth Stromatt thanked everyone in the community, other Hill Center retailers and vendors who made the day possible.
“We appreciate the support. We are delighted to be here and thank you to our team, my family and my members, ”she said.
Eat the Frog is a franchise, and while it is difficult to grow due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jim Wrigley, head of regional development, said they are looking for more franchise opportunities.
“The worst time to open a new business, but they made the most of it,” he said. “On behalf of founders Bryan Clay and Joe Culver, we are delighted to bring Eat the Frog to Middle Tennessee. We hope to expand throughout Tennessee and seek more franchise opportunities. “
Clay won the title of “World’s Greatest Athlete” at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. During his career, he has been a two-time Olympic medalist, three-time world champion and four-time national champion of the United States. .
Clay and Culver have teamed up to create a new concept of fitness with a unique name. Compassionate with society’s centuries-old propensity to delay fitness, Eat The Frog Fitness (ETF Fitness) was inspired by Mark Twain’s famous quote: “Eat a live frog every morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest.” of the day. “
The Brentwood location is the first of three opening shots for Stromatt and her husband. Two locations are planned in Franklin, one in Cool Springs.
